
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker with the San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) which is the top level of women's professional soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe from 2018 to 2020. [8][99 Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had graduated from Berkeley early. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. There, she made her debut as a professional and played in the team's win of the league championship. Morgan was only 22 at the time and was the youngest member of the national team at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. In the 123rd minute during the semifinal match against Canada at the 2012 London Olympics she scored the match-winning goals. The 2012 season ended with 28 goals, 21 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman who scored both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to score 20 goals in a single season. She was named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, and was an FIFA World Player of the The Year finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was also named to the Dream Team. In 2019, Morgan won the Silver Boot.
