Anamaria Marinca is an Romanian actress. Her debut on screen was Sex Traffic, a Channel 4 film for which she won the British Academy Television Award as the best actress. She is fluent in French, German English, and Romanian. Her father is a director of the theater at one of Romania's top acting schools. The actress won the Best Female Actor Award for the Year in 2000 at the Mangalia Young Actor Gala. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her an European Shooting Star in 2008. In 2007, she was in on the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si2 zile (4 months, 3 weeks, and 3 Weeks, 2 Days) which was directed produced by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film was awarded two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize from the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). She also appeared as a character in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. In 2008, Marinca portrayed Yasim in the BBC's Five-Episode The Last Enemy. Marinca was also a part of Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. She later played Irma's German aunt in Fury, which was released in 2014.
